Straddling Europe and Asia, Türkiye pairs the domes and bazaars of Istanbul with the fairy-chimney valleys of Cappadocia and a turquoise Aegean coastline.

Türkiye

Welcome to Türkiye — Where Continents Meet

Straddling Europe and Asia across the Bosphorus, Türkiye is a country built on crossroads. Istanbul alone holds two millennia of overlapping empires — Byzantine domes, Ottoman minarets, and a skyline that shifts from one continent to the other with a single ferry ride across the strait. Beyond the city, the landscape turns almost otherworldly: the volcanic valleys of Cappadocia rise into wind-carved "fairy chimneys," while hundreds of hot-air balloons drift over them at sunrise for one of the most photographed views in travel.

Türkiye's geography is just as dramatic further out. The white travertine terraces of Pamukkale cascade down a hillside in southwestern Anatolia, fed by mineral springs that have drawn bathers since Roman times. Along the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts, the ruins of Ephesus and a string of turquoise bays give the country a second identity as a beach and archaeology destination in the same trip. Add a cuisine built around fresh bread, grilled meats, mezze and famously strong tea, and Türkiye rewards visitors whether they've come for history, landscape, or the table.
