East Africa's tourism push is gaining major momentum. The Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) has been confirmed as the Lead Destination Partner for Africa Global PR Week (AGPRW) 2026, taking place in Nairobi from 26 to 28 August 2026, with more than 1,000 delegates expected in person and online.
The strategic partnership moves beyond standard business relations, actively aiming to reshape the global travel narrative surrounding East Africa. Under the “Magical Kenya” brand, KTB will co-host the Destination Pavilion, presenting immersive cultural showcases alongside curated pre- and post-event packages featuring the Great Wildebeest Migration, Nairobi city tours, and heritage circuits.
Diversifying into Premium Business and Eco-Travel
This year's summit theme, “Redefining Africa: Africa as a Brand,” explores how PR professionals, government officials, and academics can shape the continent's global narrative through authentic storytelling. KTB CEO June Chepkemei called the partnership “an excellent platform to emphasise the growing importance of meetings and incentive travel in diversifying Kenya's destination offering and attracting a new segment of visitors.”
For modern travelers looking to combine high-end business infrastructure with once-in-a-lifetime eco-safaris, Kenya's tourism push is setting a highly competitive standard on the global stage.
